Fantasy Tip: Tanaka is a risky play at $7,500 (or 15.0% of cap) in FantasyScore until he starts to pitch with a little more consistency. Perhaps the extra rest will get him on the right track.

The New York Yankees will recall SP Chase Whitley from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to start Tuesday, April 28, against the Tampa Bay Rays, as they want to give SP Masahiro Tanaka a full five days of rest before his next outing.
Fantasy Tip: Whitley posted a 2-0 record with a 2.12 ERA in three starts for SWB, but he isn't a recommended fantasy option in any format since he'll likely be headed right back to Pennsylvania after his outing is over.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Desmond Jennings (knee) is not in the starting lineup against the New York Yankees Monday, April 27, because of a sore right knee. He could be available to come off the bench, though.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Jennings ($2,800, 5,6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday, but his knee injury is obviously minor. Jennings is off to an uninspiring 14-for-63 start with just a single extra-base hit and two RBI. He does have five stolen bases, though.

Fantasy Tip: Consider Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) a high-risk, high-reward FantasyScore play Monday. It is unlikely he is 100%, but he has been hitting well of late. He has gone 10-for-32 over his last eight games with seven runs.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has been decent this season but Red Sox fans knew all too well he was prone to injuries. Yankee fans are finding that out too. Remove Ellsbury from your lineup for now and wait and see how he responds once back in New York's batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) should be removed from your lineup for Sunday night. There is a chance he could be back for Monday, but stay tuned for future updates.

New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia lost for the fourth time in four starts, Saturday, April 25, against the New York Mets. Sabathia lasted just five innings, while allowing nine hits and seven earned runs and striking out just two batters. Sabathia left the game to the sounds of boos coming from the Yankee Stadium faithful.
Fantasy Tip: Sabathia ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is getting worse instead of better. The three home runs Sabathia allowed can be blamed for the majority of the damage in the box score, but this outing is just another disappointment for one of the most popular bounce back candidates coming into the season. FantasyScore owners should be staying far away.

New York Yankees OF Chris Young could start in the outfield Sunday, April 26, against the New York Mets. Young may be required to fill in for OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) who left Saturday's game after feeling tightness in his hip. Manager Joe Girardi did say he hopes Ellsbury will be able to play Sunday.
Fantasy Tip: Young ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is tearing it up at the plate to begin the 2015 season. A .235 hitter for his career, Young is currently hitting for a .357 batting average with four home runs in 48 plate appearances. If Young is able to draw another start, he'll be an excellent FantasyScore option.

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hip) left the game Saturday, April 25, against the New York Mets, after feeling tightness in his hip. Manager Joe Girardi said he hopes Ellsbury will be able to play Sunday, April 26.
Fantasy Tip: It's the first injury scare of the season for Ellsbury ($5,200, 10.4% of cap). Ellsbury has begun the season hitting .294, with one home run and four stolen bases. If Ellsbury has to miss any time, look for Chris Young ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) to get starts in the outfield.

Fantasy Tip: In addition to the horrible batting average, Beltran ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has no home runs and a pitiful .288 slugging percentage. Whether he is simply declining because of his age or offseason elbow surgery is taking a toll, Beltran should be avoided at FantasyScore for the time being.

Fantasy Tip: Teixeira ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has four homers in his last five games, and while his batting average remains a dismal .218, he could still make a solid source of cap relief at FantasyScore while he has his power stroke working.

New York Yankees SP Masahiro Tanaka's velocity on his fastballs are down from 2014 as he pitches with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. However, he hit 94 mph on his four-seam heater and 93 mph on his two-seamer in his outing against the Detroit Tigers Thursday, April 23, in a temperature of 33 degrees. He's also slowly balancing is four- and two-seam fastball usage.
Fantasy Tip: Tanaka ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) has progressively gotten better in April after a rough season opener April 6 against the Toronto Blue Jays, and increased zip and life on his fastballs is encouraging. Keep a close eye on his progress early in the season as he pitches through his injury, and he'll likely continue to be a matchup play at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: CY ($3,000, 6.0% of your cap) is off to a fast start with his .368-4-9 line. He's a nice low-end flyer on FantasyScore.
Thu, 23 Apr 2015 09:32:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chris Young ($3,000, 6.0% of your cap) is in right with Carlos Beltran at DH. Young is a great low-end flyer on FantasyScore with his .368-4-9 line.
Thu, 23 Apr 2015 09:31:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jones ($2,100, 4.2% of your cap) could eventually have spot-start appeal on FantasyScore, but not right now.
