Fantasy Tip: Canha ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has oddly tanked against lefties with a .203-2-15 split and isn't a real good FantasyScore start against Roenis Elias.

Oakland Athletics 3B Danny Valencia went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI against the Seattle Mariners Friday, Oct. 2. He has recorded 34 RBI in 45 games with the Athletics, which is the most by a player that has played less than 50 games with the team.
Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) appears to have found a home with Oakland and should be in their plans for next season. Valencia should be a solid starting option for the final two games of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Remove Semien ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) from your fantasy lineups. Sogard ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is 4-for-13 with seven RBIs over the past seven days and is 5-for-17 versus Iwakuma in his career with a pair of doubles. FantasyScore owners looking for a productive source of cap relief should consider him tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Muncy ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) should be an afterthought for FantasyScore users tonight, especially while hitting at the bottom of the order. He has an average of .206 (20-for-97) with only two home runs and eight RBI against righties this year.

Updating a previous report, Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray (hip) was scratched from his final start of the year Wednesday, Sept. 30, with soreness in his left hip. Gray will finish the season 14-7 with a 2.73 ERA for the American League's worst team.
Fantasy Tip: You can safely drop Gray in all redraft leagues now. Zito ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) gave up four earned runs in just two innings in his first start of the year for the A's last weekend. He might have a longer leash against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but he's still a very weak option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Gray ($9,500, 19.0% of cap) is not a recommended FantasyScore option until the spring of 2016 at this point. There is no type of injury, it is simply the A's preserving the young pitcher since he has reached a certain innings level and they're well out of contention.
Mon, 28 Sep 2015 18:34:45 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Zito is not a recommended FantasyScore option down the stretch, as he is a shell of his former self.

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick and C Stephen Vogt are not in the lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Hector Santiago Monday, Sept. 28. OF Craig Gentry is starting in right field and batting eighth, while C Bryan Anderson is behind the plate and batting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: You should look to ignore both Gentry ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Anderson ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) in a pitching-friendly environment tonight on FantasyScore.
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 11:14:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Semien ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is hitting .271 with two home runs and seven RBIs at the plate this month, including .385 over the past week, making him worthy of consideration for FantasyScore lineups.

Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray (hip) remains listed as the starting pitcher for the game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Wednesday, Sept. 30, but he is still dealing with left hip tightness and is expected to be shut down for the season. The team will make a decision in another day or two.
Fantasy Tip: Gray ($9,500, 19.0% of cap) should be viewed as a high-risk, high-reward starting option for his final start Wednesday. However, seasonal owners will want to check back for an official announcement on his status because Gray should be replaced in all leagues, if he is ruled out.

Oakland Athletics INF Brett Lawrie will bat seventh and play second base against San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson Saturday, Sept. 26. INF Eric Sogard, who played second base Friday, Sept. 25, will play shortstop Saturday, with SS Marcus Semien receiving the day off.
Fantasy Tip: Although Lawrie ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is 3-for-5 against Hudson in his career, FantasyScore owners may want to think twice about using him. He is just 2-for-20 at the plate over the past seven days.
Sat, 26 Sep 2015 05:15:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Vogt ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) recently returned from his injury and has gone hitless in his last five games, so the injury may still be affecting him. Owners on FantasyScore may want to look for another option to use at the position.
Fri, 25 Sep 2015 17:14:09 -0700
Oakland Athletics INF Brett Lawrie is not in the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants SP Mike Leake Friday, Sept. 25. Danny Valencia will bat cleanup and play third base, while Eric Sogard will bat second and play second base.
Fantasy Tip: Lawrie ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should be removed from all starting lineups. Valencia ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) is batting .391 with two home runs and six RBIs over the past seven days, while Sogard ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is batting .318 with one home run and three RBIs during the month of September.

Fantasy Tip: Forget about using Blair ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) on FantasyScore. He has only four hits (one home run) in 28 at-bast with the A's this year.

Oakland Athletics C Stephen Vogt (groin) could return to catching during this weekend's series against the San Francisco Giants, according to manager Bob Melvin. However, he added that it's up to Vogt when he feels ready to resume playing behind the plate.
Fantasy Tip: Vogt ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is making his return to the field as a first baseman Wednesday, Sept. 23, and is 0-for-3 since suffering the groin injury Sept. 6. He should be avoided in FantasyScore for now, so that he can prove that he is both healthy and effective.
