Fantasy Tip: Gray has an ugly 6.19 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in nine starts (48 innings) this year. He's not this bad, and it's likely his injury played a part in some of his recent rough outings. He's a buy-low candidate in fantasy, just don't expect him to return to his high 2015 levels once he's back from the DL.

Oakland Athletics SP Rich Hill (groin) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, June 1, before the team decides if he can make his next start this weekend against the Houston Astros. Hill is feeling good.
Fantasy Tip: Hill tweaked his groin en route to his eighth win and nine strikeouts against the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. He's been an excellent value for fantasy owners with his 2.25 ERA and 10.4 strikeouts per nine innings. If he's able to make his next start, Hill is a must-start in all leagues, as Houston leads the AL with 509 total strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Burns remains a nice source of stolen bases in all fantasy formats, but his drop down in the order tonight is troubling if you were looking at him in daily setups. His upside is severely limited tonight, as he'll have fewer chances to run. You should probably look elsewhere.

Fantasy Tip: Alvarez isn't a bad stash option in AL-only fantasy leagues for his win potential, especially in spacious O.co Coliseum in Oakland. However, he isn't a huge source of strikeouts, so keep that in mind for when he is healthy enough to return.

Updating a previous report, Oakland Athletics SP Rich Hill (groin) has not been ruled out from making his next scheduled start despite a groin strain. Manager Bob Melvin did indicate Hill could get an extra day of rest.
Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners should be very careful in using Hill. It might be a good idea to avoid him until he can officially make that next start and prove his health through a full outing without any setbacks.

Oakland Athletics SP Kendall Graveman allowed two runs and six hits over six innings Monday, May 30, against the Minnesota Twins for his first win in more than a month. He also finished with five strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Graveman has actually pitched pretty well at home, going 1-3 with a 3.38 ERA in five starts while going 1-3 with a 7.23 ERA in five starts on the road. Take that into consideration when thinking about using Graveman in DFS and AL-only fantasy formats.

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp made his 15th straight start Monday, May 30, against the Minnesota Twins, his longest stretch since 2014. He hit his fifth home run of the season, and 16th leadoff homer of his career.
Fantasy Tip: Crisp has had a propensity for injury over the past couple of seasons, but when he is in the lineup he is an effective fantasy option.

Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns is not in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Ervin Santana Monday, May 30. OF Coco Crisp will start in center field, while OF Khris Davis will start in left field. 1B Billy Butler will serve as the designated hitter and is batting sixth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Butler has been a bit inconsistent at the plate over the last few weeks but does have three hits and five RBI over the last two games. Butler can be a decent starting option in daily fantasy leagues because of his recent play.

Fantasy Tip: Surkamp has struggled in his limited work for the Athletics this season and will enter the game with a 6.55 ERA. Owners in all leagues should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Contradicting a previous report, Oakland Athletics SP Rich Hill (groin) was diagnosed with a mild groin strain after exiting his start Sunday, May 29, and manager Bob Melvin said he was unsure if Hill would make his next start. It was previously reported that Hill suffered a shoulder injury.
Fantasy Tip: The injury has been pinpointed, but the timeline for his recovery remains unclear. Stay tuned for an update.
Sun, 29 May 2016 17:08:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Madson blew two of his last three save chances, and he may have cost himself the closer's role. He is worth holding on to for now, but grab Doolittle if he is still available in your league.
Sun, 29 May 2016 17:04:05 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ryan Madson handled the eighth inning, so the move could signal a changing of the guard in the ninth inning. Hang on to Madson for now, but Doolittle needs to be owned in all formats.
Sun, 29 May 2016 16:59:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butler has been struggling and receiving sporadic playing time, and at best, he is a shot-in-the-dark DFS play against left-handed pitching.
Sun, 29 May 2016 16:56:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen if Hill will need to miss any time with the injury. Don't make any roster moves yet.
Sun, 29 May 2016 16:14:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Stay tuned for more updates on the nature of Hill's injury. He has been having an excellent season, so sit tight and hope for good news.
