Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns (hip) returned from a two-game absence and went 2-for-5 with a double in a 5-3 loss to the Kansas City Royals Sunday, June 28, and his 16-game hitting streak is one shy of the franchise's rookie record.
Fantasy Tip: Burns ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) showed no signs of rust, and while you need to make sure his hip issue doesn't flare up over the next few days, it looks safe to resume using Buns as an effective cheaper option at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Burns ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) had been out of the lineup since Thursday, June 25, due to a hip injury. Since speed is a big part of his game, FantasyScore owners would be wise to avoid using Burns today to insure that he is fully healthy.

Fantasy Tip: Muncy ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is batting just .160 this month and is not a great FantasyScore option this afternoon. Remove Lawrie ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) from all fantasy lineups.
Sun, 28 Jun 2015 12:23:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitless in his last 10 at-bats and is only hitting .197 this month, so FantasyScore owners should avoid using him.

Fantasy Tip: Burns ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been solid since earning regular playing time, but with speed being a big part of his value, you may want to avoid him at FantasyScore until he shows his hip injury isn't slowing him down on the basepaths.

Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Vogt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight games and is a solid option for owners on FantasyScore.

Oakland Athletics C Stephen Vogt will serve as the designated hitter against Kansas City Royals SP Chris R. Young Saturday, June 27, and is batting third in the lineup. C Josh Phegley will start at catcher and is batting sixth.
Fantasy Tip: Vogt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) is receiving a day off from catcher but is still in the lineup. Vogt has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight games and is a solid option for owners on FantasyScore. Phegley ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .333 this month with three home runs and seven RBI over his last five games. He could be a cheaper option for owners to consider.

Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns is not in the starting lineup against Kansas City Royals SP Chris R. Young Saturday, June 27. OF Sam Fuld will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Burns ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the next day or two. Fuld ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has played better this month but is still hitting .210 this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.
Fri, 26 Jun 2015 17:12:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lawrie ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is excelling in June (.347-3-15) and has had a very solid season all around (.289-7-35). He gains more fantasy value hitting up near the top of the lineup, too. You could do much worse than Lawrie tonight as your FantasyScore second baseman.
Fri, 26 Jun 2015 17:08:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Sogard ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is more intriguing at the top of the lineup, but he doesn't have much offensive upside and hasn't homered in 221 at-bats this season. He's strictly a low-end FantasyScore sleeper play if you're feeling lucky.
Fri, 26 Jun 2015 16:53:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Fuld ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has very little offensive upside, as evidenced by his .207 average (34-for-164) with no home runs and 12 RBI. Avoid him everywhere.

Oakland Athletics RP Tyler Clippard worked a perfect ninth inning against the Texas Rangers for his 13th save in 15 chances Thursday, June 25. He hadn't pitched since Sunday, June 21, due to a heavy workload over the weekend. He was the first A's reliever since 1996 with saves of three or more outs on consecutive days over the weekend.
Fantasy Tip: Clippard doesn't have any challengers for the closer role in Oakland at the moment. However, he could become trade bait this summer, leaving either Evan Scribner or Drew Pomeranz in line to take over the ninth-inning role. Sean Doolittle remains on the DL and has no timetable for a return. Drop Doolittle in shallow mixed leagues if you no longer have the room.

Oakland Athletics OF Billy Burns extended his hitting streak to 15 games Thursday, June 25, and he now has hits in 27 of his last 28 games. Burns was 1-for-5 with a run scored, and his season average now stands at .322.
Fantasy Tip: Burns ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) isn't the one-trick speed pony everyone likely labeled him as when he first came up anymore. He's doing it all now and is a great FantasyScore weapon at the top of the A's lineup.

Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray struck out seven and walked three over six innings to improve to 5-0 with a 0.96 ERA in his five road starts against the Texas Rangers Thursday, June 25. He had given up only one run in 31 1/3 innings in his previous four starts against Texas, which included two shutouts last year. Gray allowed nine hits and three earned runs in the outing.
Fantasy Tip: It wasn't Gray's ($9,200, 18.4%of cap) prettiest outing of the year, as his ERA actually rose to 2.05. But he got the job done once again for his owners and those that chose him on FantasyScore. Continue riding him in this breakout season.

Fantasy Tip: Vogt ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) went 3-for-5 with a run scored in a sweep of the Rangers Thursday afternoon. He continues to be one of the safest catching options on FantasyScore. A tennis elbow he's been dealing with recently that required a cortisone shot Sunday doesn't appear to be an issue at all.
