Oakland Athletics RP Sean Doolittle (shoulder) made his 2015 debut Tuesday, May 27, when he pitched a scoreless sixth inning against the Detroit Tigers. Doolittle said he felt good about his ability to locate his fastball and see improvement with his changeup and slider, two pitches he worked on while rehabbing a shoulder injury. Doolittle's fastball did not top 90 mph.
Fantasy Tip: Doolittle will slowly work his way back into form with hopes to recapture the closer role. The odds are in his favor, but owners should continue to play Tyler Clippard as long as he has the job.

Fantasy Tip: The A's won't know whether Kazmir ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) will need to go on the DL until they get the results of his exam. There's a good chance he'll need to be sidelined, though, as the left-hander has had shoulder problems in his career in the past. Plan for the worst if you own him, and be prepared to go without him at FantasyScore for a while.

Fantasy Tip: Kazmir ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) may be in danger of missing his next start, depending on the severity of his shoulder injury. He was pitching well against the Tigers before leaving, too, so it'd be a shame if he's forced to the DL. Stay tuned for updates on his condition. Depending on the injury, it might be wise to avoid Kazmir at FantasyScore the next time he takes the mound again.

Fantasy Tip: Even in a game started by a relief pitcher, Sogard ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) makes for a low-end keystone option at FantasyScore tonight. Hitting at the bottom of a weak lineup doesn't help matters at all.

Fantasy Tip: With Davis out, Mark Canha ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) and Max Muncy ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) should continue to form a platoon at first base. Neither player is a strong FantasyScore play, though.

Oakland Athletics SPs A.J. Griffin (shoulder, elbow) and Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) are both progressing in their rehab. Griffin will throw a simulated game Thursday, May 28, while Pomeranz will throw off a mound Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin could return to the A's rotation sometime next month. Stash him now in all formats if you're in need of rotation help for the second half of the season. Pomeranz ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) won't be rushed back after sporting a 4.40 ERA in eight starts this year. There's no reason to hold onto Pomeranz in shallow mixed leagues at this time.

Oakland Athletics C Josh Phegley is starting behind the plate and hitting eighth in the order Tuesday, May 26, against the Detroit Tigers. C Stephen Vogt will start at first base and 1B Max Muncy is out of the starting lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Phegley ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .308 against left-handed pitchers this season, but David Price will pose a tough test. FantasyScore owners should look elsewhere.
Tue, 26 May 2015 16:40:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is 6-for-19 in his last four games, and he's hitting .303 against lefties on the season. David Price will pose a difficult test, but Butler is an intriguing GPP option while he's hot.
Tue, 26 May 2015 16:39:06 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gray ($8,300, 16.6% of cap) should be fine for his next start. He has an ERA of just 1.77 this year and a WHIP of 1.00 with 61 strikeouts in 66 innings. He should remain a fantastic option for FantasyScore gamers moving forward.

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick isn't in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 26, against the Detroit Tigers. OF Sam Fuld will move over to right field, with OF Mark Canha drawing the start in left field and batting sixth in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Canha ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting a paltry .081, with two singles and one double against left-handed pitchers this season. Canha should not be considered against Tigers LHP David Price.

Fantasy Tip: Doolittle won't immediately return to closing duties, however. The A's will ease him in in low-leverage situations, while Tyler Clippard continues to handle fireman duties in the short term. Both relievers need to be owned, and you may want to leave Doolittle on your bench until he gets a couple outings under his belt.

Oakland Athletics RP Sean Doolittle (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the disabled list for the game Tuesday, May 26. However, he isn't expected to return to the closer role immediately, and he'll be used in low-leverage spots early on.
Fantasy Tip: Doolittle should be owned everywhere, but be hesitant to return him to your active lineups until he has at least a few appearances under his belt. Tyler Clippard will continue to be useful for fantasy owners in the short term for saves. Once Doolittle returns to full-time closing duties, Clippard can be cut in shallow mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Hahn ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has been up and down to start the season, but he showed another flash of brilliance Monday, allowing just one walk and four hits, while striking out five over nine full innings. Hahn's FIP and xFIP and are both well below his 4.43 ERA, and they're should be some more dominant outings on the way.
Mon, 25 May 2015 11:41:35 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Owners should monitor the situation to see when Lawrie ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) will be able to return to the lineup. Muncy ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has at least one hit in only four of his last 11 games and may not be a great option for owners on FantasyScore.
Mon, 25 May 2015 11:24:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) will be eased into games following his prolonged absence. He should be avoided on FantasyScore until he shakes the rust off and starts producing consistently.
