Oakland Athletics 2B/3B Brett Lawrie and 3B Danny Valencia are on the trade block after the team acquired SS Jed Lowrie. Both are drawing interest from American League teams, but Lawrie is considered more likely to be dealt.
Fantasy Tip: Lawrie still has a lot of potential and is a MI candidate in traditional leagues wherever he plays.

Fantasy Tip: Newly acquired Jed Lowrie may have to squeeze in at third. Semien had a decent year with a .257-15-45 line with 11 steals, and he'll be a MI consideration in mixed leagues.

Houston Astros SS Jed Lowrie was acquired by the Oakland Athletics Wednesday, Nov. 25, according to multiple sources. The package headed to Houston has not been disclosed. Lowrie will make $7.5 million in 2016 and $6.5 million in 2017. He has a $6 million club option for 2018.
Fantasy Tip: Lowrie really struggled with injuries last season, and he turns 32 in April. He still has pop, though, and will be a MI consideration in traditional leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Hill rejuvenated his value with four good starts for Boston late last season. Hill went 2-1 with a 1.55 ERA, a 0.66 WHIP and 36 K's in 29 innings. He'll be 36 when the season begins, and he has long struggled with injuries and control. He has some upside, though, as a SP5.

Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray's trade value after two and a half years in the majors is at a high, but team official Billy Beane said "trading Gray is not something I think we could do." Beane also mentioned OF Josh Reddick as a tough player to part with.
Fantasy Tip: Gray was one of the best pitchers in baseball before an injury derailed his season. He went 14-7 with a 2.73 ERA and 169 strikeouts in 208 innings pitched. He'll surely be one of the top starting pitchers off the board in fantasy baseball drafts in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz flamed out as a starter in 2015, but you'll want to keep a close eye on his expected role next spring before drafting him outside of AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues. He could slide into save situations or the back end of the starting rotation. He isn't a worth a roster spot in the majority of keeper/dynasty leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Canha split his time at first base and in the outfield this season but it looks like may see the majority of his playing time at first base. He hit .254 with 16 home runs and 70 RBI this season and could be a solid option in deeper leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz could be in competition for a rotation spot in spring training and still has enough upside to be a worthwhile flyer near the end of drafts.

Fantasy Tip: AL-only leagues should benefit from Reddick being around for another season or more in Oakland. The team needs Reddick, especially since it looks like Coco Crisp may be a health risk moving forward and may not be able to start.

Fantasy Tip: Gentry ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) has always been known primarily as a defensive-minded outfielder, so FantasyScore owners should avoid using him this afternoon.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 11:47:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Anderson ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be viewed in FantasyScore as nothing more than a desperation source of salary cap relief.

Fantasy Tip: The 25-year-old shortstop had a solid season, and he bounced back strongly from a significant mid-season slump. Dating back to Saturday, Aug. 1, Semien ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) owns a .284/.354.483 slash line with 27 runs and 23 RBI through 51 games. He checks out as a low-end middle infield option for mixed leagues next season.

Fantasy Tip: Canha ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has oddly tanked against lefties with a .203-2-15 split and isn't a real good FantasyScore start against Roenis Elias.

Oakland Athletics 3B Danny Valencia went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI against the Seattle Mariners Friday, Oct. 2. He has recorded 34 RBI in 45 games with the Athletics, which is the most by a player that has played less than 50 games with the team.
Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) appears to have found a home with Oakland and should be in their plans for next season. Valencia should be a solid starting option for the final two games of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Remove Semien ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) from your fantasy lineups. Sogard ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is 4-for-13 with seven RBIs over the past seven days and is 5-for-17 versus Iwakuma in his career with a pair of doubles. FantasyScore owners looking for a productive source of cap relief should consider him tonight.
