Fantasy Tip: Lawrie ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has piled on a few nice stretches this season, and he appears to be in the heart of another. Over his past 11 games, Lawrie has eight runs, three doubles, three home runs, seven RBI and a 1.061 OPS. He is a nice value play at FantasyScore contests and worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Crisp ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) in all fantasy formats Friday. He currently cannot be started with confidence in any format, either, as Crisp owns a .152/.236/.202 slash line for the season. Smolinski ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has been solid for Oakland with a .946 OPS through 35 at-bats, but it is a small sample size, and he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a dice roll at FantasyScore Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Lawrie ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is 13-for-27 (.481) during his impressive hitting streak, posting a pair of homers with five RBIs and six runs scored. At this price level he is a must-start in FantasyScore until he cools off significantly.

Oakland Athletics RP Sean Doolittle (shoulder) is still a work in progress, as he works his way back from a shoulder injury, according to manager Bob Melvin. Melvin did not rule out Doolittle returning to the closer role this season, though.
Fantasy Tip: Doolittle was roughed up by the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday, Aug. 23, and he blew a save opportunity. It would be foolish to write him off after a single appearance, but you'll want to keep tabs on his next few outings. There is plenty of upside, but Doolittle doesn't warrant a long leash at this stage of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Doubront ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) hasn't gone over six innings in either of his two starts for the A's since joining the rotation, and he's one to avoid against the hot D-backs in his first start coming off an injury-shortened outing.

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez hasn't been his normal self in his last two starts, so perhaps there's a bit more reason to consider Reddick ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) as a contrarian play today. After all, he does have a .297/.343/.486 slash line with 12 of his 15 home runs against righties.

Oakland Athletics 3B Danny Valencia is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. 3B Brett Lawrie is starting at third, while 2B Eric Sogard receives the start at second base and is hitting ninth against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez.
Fantasy Tip: King Felix hasn't been his typical dominant self of late, but that doesn't change the fact that Sogard ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) shouldn't intrigue you much at all at FantasyScore. He's hitting .243 (79-for-325) and has no home runs on the season.
Tue, 25 Aug 2015 17:06:29 -0700
Fantasy Tip: On the season, Smolinski ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) is hitting a measley .196 (18-for-92), but he does have 10 hits in his first 32 at-bats for the A's, including two home runs and eight RBI. Still, he's a low-end outfield option in daily contests while taking hacks in a pitcher-friendly environment.
Tue, 25 Aug 2015 17:02:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Phegley ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has good numbers against lefties in limited duty (.299/.346/.485 with four of his seven home runs), and Montgomery has been sliding since a hot start when he initially joined the rotation. Phegley isn't a bad value play on FantasyScore if you want to save some money at catcher tonight.

Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain if Doubront ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) will be forced to miss a start or hit the 15-day disabled list. Avoid him until he can officially return and make it through a full game without any setbacks.
Mon, 24 Aug 2015 17:09:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The A's are expected to go with a four-man rotation in the near future because of extra off days. Graveman ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) can probably be dropped in all single-year formats as a result, and you won't need to worry about using him on FantasyScore the rest of the way.
Mon, 24 Aug 2015 15:01:54 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Sogard ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) has very little power and is batting .244 (78-for-320) with no home runs and 26 RBI this year and he's facing a pitcher coming off a no-hit performance last week. Avoid Sogard on FantasyScore.
Mon, 24 Aug 2015 12:03:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Graveman ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has been a serviceable rookie in AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues this season with a 4.05 ERA. He may be a stash candidate in those deep formats, but it is safe to drop him elsewhere. You'll want to wait for an announcement on who will replace Garveman in the rotation before making any lineup decisions. Aaron Brooks and Brad Mills are both options to start for Oakland, but they boast minimal fantasy value.
Mon, 24 Aug 2015 10:19:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is batting .283 (13-for-46) with no home runs and two RBI since his return from the DL. He's not guaranteed to be in the lineup every day, though, and he won't offer you much power or stolen bases on FantasyScore. With Iwakuma coming off a no-hitter and pitching very well since his return from the DL, Crisp is one to avoid in daily games.
Sun, 23 Aug 2015 19:57:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Doolittle is worth stashing if you have the room and need saves, but he isn't a lock to reclaim the closer role this season.
