Oakland Athletics SP Kendall Graveman has been working on his delivery and his changeup, and he said he had success since reducing the velocity of his changeup to create a better differential between the pitch and his fastball.
Fantasy Tip: Graveman will be trying to recapture the form he showed in spring training, but after struggling in four starts early in the regular season, he shouldn't be trusted at FantasyScore until all his mechanical changes translate into better results.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp has been adjusting his approach at the plate to accommodate the pain, and it has taken its toll. He has just two hits in 45 at-bats this year, and unless he is fully healthy when he returns, he should be avoided at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Parrino will be as cheap as they come at FantasyScore after just being recalled from the minors. Avoid him everywhere in daily contests.

Fantasy Tip: Sogard's ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) fantasy value increases a bit with a move all the way up the lineup for daily gamers, but you still should consider him a weak play at FantasyScore. He's facing one of the American League's best starters this year in Archer.

Oakland Athletics 2B Ben Zobrist (knee) will play nine innings in left field for Class AAA Nashville Friday, May 22, and he will serve as the designated hitter Saturday, May 23. He'll be at second base for the Sounds Sunday, May 24.
Fantasy Tip: Zobrist ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) could be on track to return to the A's early next week if he avoids a setback this weekend. He will take over the starting second base duties, most likely, from Eric Sogard ($2,000, 4.0% of cap), who has been a low-end keystone play. However, Zobrist can also move around in the outfield, giving Oakland plenty of options. Unless he has a matchup you can't pass up, you should be hesitant in throwing Zobrist directly into your FantasyScore lineups when he's back.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds as if Davis won't be ready to return when he's eligible to come off the DL. In the meantime, Max Muncy ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) and Mark Canha ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) are low-end sleeper plays based on matchups, with Muncy starting mainly against righties and Canha starting against left-handers.

Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is likely to land on the DL for a significant period of time, and you shouldn't hold your breath for him to return this year. Billy Burns ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) gains long-term value in all formats, and he's a nice value play at FantasyScore for his speed. Sam Fuld ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) should also see an increase in playing time with Crisp out, but he's mainly a desperation sleep play, especially with the way he's been swinging the stick of late.

Oakland Athletics SP Scott Kazmir possibly being traded wasn't discussed in detail by Athletics general manager Billy Beane Thursday, May 21, although Beane noted no team has called about acquiring Kazmir.
Fantasy Tip: Kazmir ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) appears to be staying in Oakland for the time being, which at least add a layer of comfort for fantasy owners. He is sporting a 3.08 ERA with a 2-2 record through eight starts in 2015. He is slated to pitch Friday, May 22, at the Tampa Bay Rays (Chris Archer) and has encountered a bit of a rough patch, relatively speaking, in his last few outings. Consider him a low-upside play Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Vogt ($1,600, 3.6% of cap) is a low-end fantasy option who has spot-play worth on FantasyScore with the right matchup.
Thu, 21 May 2015 19:58:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Fuld ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has scored just one run and doesn't have an RBI this month. He has no business being in lineups at FantasyScore right now.

Fantasy Tip: Pomeranz is worth stashing in cavernous mixed and AL-only formats. Expect a clearer timeline for his return to be announced soon. Until then, continue to check back for updates on his progress. It isn't out of the question to cut bait for a player with more upside given the nature of Pomeranz's injury, though.
Thu, 21 May 2015 14:47:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: After a sterling spring training, Graveman flamed out in a hurry earlier this season. Consider him a high-risk, high-reward start in all fantasy formats Saturday, and outside of cavernous mixed and AL-only leagues he likely doesn't warrant a roster spot at this point.
Thu, 21 May 2015 14:41:22 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Crisp's ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) fantasy stock is dwindling, and at this point, he should not be owned in shallow mixed leagues, and you should consider replacing him in all other leagues, too. Billy Burns ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) and Sam Fuld ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) project to return to the platoon in center field they had when Crisp was out earlier this season. Burns has more upside, although both outfielders are stolen base threats. FantasyScore players should only target them when they land in a favorable matchup.

Oakland Athletics OFs Billy Burns and Sam Fuld are both in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Alex Colome Thursday, May 21. Burns is starting in center field and hitting leadoff, while Fuld is in left and hitting eighth in the order.
Fantasy Tip: Burns ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) and Fuld ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) should both see more playing time with Coco Crisp (neck) out indefinitely. Burns is the much better option at FantasyScore, especially since he's likely to hit leadoff more often than not. The same thinking goes for their values tonight against Colome.

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (neck) will travel to Dallas to see a doctor Thursday, May 21, and he could be out for an extended period of time and might need surgery. "I'll try to come back sometime this year," Crisp said. "And if not, then next year." He's hitting only .044 in 13 games since coming off the disabled list after having elbow surgery. Crisp played in just 126 games in 2014 due to neck problems.
Fantasy Tip: Crisp ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should not be owned at this point in shallow mixed leagues, and you should consider dropping him in all other leagues, as well. Billy Burns ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) and Sam Fuld ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) are expected to platoon in center field with Crisp out. Burns is the much better FantasyScore commodity with more upside, although both outfielders are stolen base threats.
