Fantasy Tip: It's unclear if Doolittle will immediately return to the closer's role when he's ready, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him be eased back into ninth-inning duties with Tyler Clippard. Both relievers should be held onto in all fantasy leagues, at least for a bit after Doolittle comes back.

Fantasy Tip: Burns ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is getting some playing time at the leadoff spot at the expense of Sam Fuld right now. Burns is a speedster that is particularly attractive setting the table for the scrappy A's, and he's a solid choice for FantasyScore players tonight. However, his fantasy value may be short-lived once Coco Crisp returns soon.

Oakland Athletics DH Billy Butler, who was given the day off Sunday, May 3, is mired in an 0-for-20 slump. He's expected to return to the starting lineup Monday, May 4, to face Minnesota Twins SP Phil Hughes. Butler is 8-for-30 with a home run and three doubles against Hughes in his career.
Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) probably won't draw a lot of FantasyScore eyes tonight while in the midst of a slump, but you could choose to take him on and zig when others zag because of his good career numbers against Hughes.

Fantasy Tip: Vogt ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is up to six home runs and 20 RBIs on the year, and although he usually sits against lefties, he is a strong option at FantasyScore whenever he faces right-handed pitcher.

Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is off to a solid start and likely is receiving a day off. Billy Burns had a solid debut in the last game but is not a great option at this point.

Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick's three hits, including a home run, against the Texas Rangers Saturday, May 2, extended his hitting streak to 10 games. During the span, Reddick has eight runs, two home runs, 13 RBI and a .500/.564/.824 slash line.
Fantasy Tip: Reddick's ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) locked in at the dish and hitting in the heart of the lineup. FantasyScore players have an excellent low-price target on their hands, and Reddick should be owned in all traditional formats while red hot.

Fantasy Tip: Reddick ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is hitting .367 to start the season, including a .377 average against righties. With an ideal spot in the batting order, Reddick will make for a nice value-play on FantasyScore.
Sat, 02 May 2015 15:40:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Phegley ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has one run scored and one RBI through 23 plate appearances so far in 2015. Phegley is a .190-hitter off righties for his career, and he should be avoided by all FantasyScore owners.

Fantasy Tip: Burns will make his season debut and will do so from a very enviable position in the order. Burns hit .315 and stole five bases in 99 plate appearance at Class AAA before being re-called. Burns is a switch-hitter going up against Rangers RHP Nick Martinez. Burns is someone to watch for going forward, especially if he can remain at the top of the order.

Fantasy Tip: With Crisp ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) set to return soon, that could mean less playing time for Mark Canha ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) or Sam Fuld ($2,400, 4.8% of cap). It could be a fluid situation in the outfield, though, especially as the A's look to ease Crisp back into action.
Fri, 01 May 2015 13:51:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Canha ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) sat out a few games earlier this week and over the weekend due to an illness. After a hot start, he had cooled over the past week, but he bounced back with a homer and three hits yesterday. A bottom-of-the-order placement doesn't endear him to FantasyScore users, and he'll continue to be a sleeper pick for your daily lineups.

Oakland Athletics RP Sean Doolittle (shoulder) could go on a rehab assignment in the next week or so with a potential return later this month possible. Doolittle has also been working on grips for different pitches. "I'm using this time not only to get my shoulder better but to become a better pitcher," Doolittle said. "I've tried the split-change, slurves, you name it."
Fantasy Tip: Doolittle should factor into the closing equation soon after his return. Keep him stashed on your DL. Tyler Clippard's window could be in danger of closing - no pun intended.

Fantasy Tip: Canha's ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) 24.6% strikeout rate on the season continues to be his biggest, and potentially only red flag. FantasyScore owners would also like to see Canha hit a little higher in the batting order. Against right-handed pitchers, Canha remains a high-upside value play.

Oakland Athletics SP Jesse Chavez required 95 pitches to get through the fifth inning Thursday, April 30, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Chavez surrendered seven hits, three walks and four earned runs, while managing five strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Chavez ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) entered the game with an ERA of just 0.71 through 12.2 innings pitched. Chavez's .161 BABIP coming in, took a hit, as did the rest of his numbers. FantasyScore owners should wait and see how Chavez responds in his next outing before reinvesting.

Fantasy Tip: Semien ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has really benefitted from everyday playing time and a move to the two-hole recently. Batting second this year, he's hitting .375 (6-for-16). He's not a great FantasyScore play today against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim starter Garrett Richards, but it's hard to call him a must-avoid guy while he's hitting well.
