Fantasy Tip: Herrera is batting .341 with three home runs and eight RBI through 85 at-bats this month. He should be viewed as a viable option in DFS and is a worthwhile player to own for seasonal teams looking for batting average help.

Fantasy Tip: Although Nola didn't have his best stuff Wednesday, he still earned the win thanks to a rare instance of a Phillies starting pitcher receiving a decent amount of run support. His next scheduled start will come against the Washington Nationals Tuesday, May 31.

Philadelphia Phillies 3B Maikel Franco (ankle) said he will play Friday, May 27, after he sprained his right ankle against the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, May 25. Manager Pete Mackanin said the team will be cautious with Franco and evaluate him before a series against the Chicago Cubs. Franco went 2-for-4 Wednesday and has nine hits in his last 24 at-bats.
Fantasy Tip: Franco has eight home runs on the season despite a mediocre .254 average. He appears to be heating up at the plate, though, and he's a serious candidate to reach 30 home runs in his first full big league season. Get him back into your starting lineups if he's ready to go Friday night.

Fantasy Tip: The injury didn't look too bad, as Franco was limping after sliding into second base against the Detroit Tigers. Check back for updates on the young slugger's condition to see if he'll miss any time. If Franco is sidelined for a stretch, Andres Blanco or Emmanuel Burriss could take over at third base. Neither would be attractive fantasy options.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco doesn't offer owners much upside with the stick. He's batting .264 with one home run and seven RBI and is a deep sleeper that'll probably disappoint hitting lower in the batting order.

Philadelphia Phillies SP Jeremy Hellickson fell to 4-3 after losing to the Detroit Tigers in his start Tuesday, May 24. He was solid, though, working seven efficient innings in which he allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk. He also struck out seven batters.
Fantasy Tip: Hellickson has quietly gone on a run as of late, as this registered as his third straight quality start. In the process, the former Tampa Bay Ray brought his ERA down to a more respectable 3.97. While he doesn't garner most of the attention on the Philadelphia pitching staff, he could be worth streaming in the weeks ahead. He's a fine source for strikeouts, too, with 57 K's in 56 2/3 total innings this season.

Fantasy Tip: This is merely the Ruiz half of the platoon getting a chance to play in a game. Although Ruiz is .294-2-4 in away games, he still carries little fantasy value in all formats because of the platoon situation and the low numbers this month (7-for-33, .212 average in May).
Mon, 23 May 2016 20:41:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Herrera has picked up at least one hit in 15 of the 20 games this month and currently has a .335 batting average this season. He is an attractive option for owners looking for batting average help, but owners will need to see if he will be benched for a game because of his lack of hustle.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera was playing well but was still removed from the game. There is a chance that he could sit out the next game, so owners in daily fantasy leagues will need to check the lineup. He entered Monday's game with a .335 batting average and should be a fine starting option when he plays.

Fantasy Tip: Eickhoff improved to 2-6 overall with the win. Overall, he has had a disappointing season, and one thing to keep in mind is Eickhoff accomplished this against the lowly Braves. Wait and see if Eickhoff can repeat this against a stronger team before giving him fantasy consideration.
Sun, 22 May 2016 09:57:44 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Joseph has gone 4-for-12 with one home run and one RBI since being recalled from the minor leagues. Joseph should be a starting option in some daily fantasy leagues, but owners in mixed leagues should find better options.

Philadelphia Phillies INF Andres Blanco will bat third and start at second base against SP Williams Perez Saturday, May 21, with 2B Cesar Hernandez receiving the day off. In addition, C Carlos Ruiz will start behind the plate and bat sixth, while OF David Lough will play right field and bat ninth.
Fantasy Tip: Blanco and Ruiz have both been productive in limited playing time and are worth considering as value plays in daily fantasy contests. However, Lough has struggled at the plate and should be viewed as nothing more than desperation cap relief.

Fantasy Tip: Despite turning in his worst performance of the season by far, Nola's ERA for the season actually fell to 2.85 thanks to three of the runs given up being unearned. He had entered Friday's contest with a 3-0 record and 1.32 ERA over his last five starts. Nola will look to bounce back in his next outing versus the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, May 25.
Fri, 20 May 2016 19:38:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Herrera is batting .327 with four home runs, 13 RBI and six steals through 41 games while serving as the club's leadoff hitter. The 24-year-old should be owned in most fantasy formats.

Philadelphia Phillies 1B Tommy Joseph likely won't see much action this weekend against an Atlanta Braves rotation that is heavily right-handed. Joseph is 4-for-10 with a home run since being called up from Class AAA Lehigh Valley last Friday. Head coach Pete Mackanin is heavily committed to a platoon at first base with Joseph and 1B Ryan Howard, with Howard seeing most of the starts against righties.
Fantasy Tip: Both Joseph and Howard can be useful in deeper mixed and NL-only leagues for their power strokes, but be mindful that Howard will kill your average (.168/.236/.398 line with eight bombs). Joseph has limited upside in the current setup but has a much higher ceiling.
