Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano is scheduled to start Thursday, Sept. 3, against the Milwaukee Brewers. He is 8-2 with a 2.89 ERA in 17 starts since allowing a season-high seven runs May 19. He is 6-5 with a 4.06 ERA in 14 career appearances against the Brewers.
Fantasy Tip: The way Liriano ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) has been going he is a must-start FantasyScore play, even though the Brewers have knocked off the Pirates in five straight games.

Pittsburgh Pirates C Francisco Cervelli (leg) took a foul top off of his lower right leg in the second inning Wednesday, Sept. 2, against the Milwaukee Brewers. He spent a couple of minutes sitting near home plate, but was able to gather himself and finish the game.
Fantasy Tip: Cervelli ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) finished the game hitless in four at-bats. It might be a good idea for FantasyScore players to shy away from him, as he could very well sit in the next game if he develops a bruise or swelling.

Fantasy Tip: This is the second consecutive game Harrison ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has sat out, so there is potential he stands to be the odd-man out of the infield shuffle. Still, it is unlikely he can't help in deep mixed leagues with the at-bats he receives.

Fantasy Tip: The Pirates have exceptional depth, so a would-be regular has to sit out nightly, and Harrison ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is the guy Tuesday. He projects to continue to receive semi-regular at-bats going forward and is worth owning in the majority of seasonal formats. He is just 5-for-21 without an extra-base hit since returning from the disabled list Monday, Aug. 21.

Pittsburgh Pirates SP A.J. Burnett (elbow) threw approximately 70 pitches during a bullpen session Sunday, Aug. 30, and reportedly felt great. He is hoping to return to action during a four-game series against the Chicago Cubs in mid-September.
Fantasy Tip: Burnett ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) was 8-5 with a 3.06 ERA in 21 starts prior to landing on the disabled list. Owners in NL-only and deep mixed fantasy leagues should continue to stash him, if they can afford the roster space.

Pittsburgh Pirates SS Jung Ho Kang is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Sunday, Aug. 30. SS Jordy Mercer will start at second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Kang ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the near future. Mercer ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has gone 4-for-15 since returning from the disabled list, but owners on FantasyScore may be able to find better options.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2B Neil Walker is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Sunday, Aug. 30. 2B Josh Harrison will start at second base and is batting seventh in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Walker ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is receiving a day off because he struggles against left-handed pitchers. Harrison ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has five hits and one RBI in his last five games and could be a starting option on FantasyScore.

Pittsburgh Pirates 1B Pedro Alvarez is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Sunday, Aug. 30. 1B Michael Morse will start at first base and is batting sixth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Alvarez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) usually sits against left-handed pitchers, so he is receiving a day off. Morse ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is hitting .323 in limited playing time this month but has not recorded an RBI since July 21, so owners may want to look at other options.

Pittsburgh Pirates OF Starling Marte is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Chris Rusin Saturday, Aug. 29. 2B Josh Harrison will start in left field and is batting second in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Marte ($5,600, 11.2% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Harrison ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has gone 3-for-14 since he has come off the disabled list and may not be the best option at this point.
Fri, 28 Aug 2015 19:48:27 -0700
Fantasy Tip: McCutchen ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has multiple hits in five of his last six games and in seven of his last 10. If you are going to spend up on a high-priced option, he deserves nightly consideration at FantasyScore.
Fri, 28 Aug 2015 13:02:50 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kang ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) owns a .323/.392/.579 slash line since the All-Star break with 23 runs, eight home runs and 17 RBI. He is worth a long look at FantasyScore Friday. Ramirez ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been underwhelming since joining Pittsburgh with a .250/.298/.337 slash line and just one home run. Don't be surprised to see his playing time decrease, if he doesn't improve his production at the dish.
Thu, 27 Aug 2015 19:33:13 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cole ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) finishes the month of August with a 1-3 record and a 3.14 ERA through six starts. He will make his next start against the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Thu, 27 Aug 2015 18:38:11 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Alvarez ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) is batting .302 with six home runs and 15 RBIs in 63 at-bats during the month of August and may warrant consideration for FantasyScore lineups if he has a favorable matchup.
Thu, 27 Aug 2015 14:33:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Diaz could be worth a look in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but his playing time will likely be sparse, if he is even recalled. View him as more of an option in deeper keeper/dynasty leagues. With Class AAA Indianapolis, Diaz owns a .270/.330/.375 slash line, so he likely won't make a significant fantasy splash this season.

Pittsburgh Pirates SS Jung Ho Kang is not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Justin Nicolino Thursday, Aug. 27. SS Jordy Mercer will start at shortstop and is batting eighth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Kang ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Mercer ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has gone 2-for-8 since being activated from the disabled list but is not a great option on FantasyScore.
