San Francisco Giants C Hector Sanchez will start behind the plate and hit ninth in the order Saturday, Aug. 1, against the Texas Rangers and LHP Cole Hamels. C Buster Posey will hit fourth in the order and serve as the designated hitter.
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) won't be worth looking at on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Maxwell ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting a meager .212 against southpaws this season, and he should be avoided for FantasyScore contests.

Fantasy Tip: Panik ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has been very consistent this year and is in a great lineup position for daily success. Facing struggling starter Martinez is just another reason to feel good about having him in your daily lineup tonight, too, even if he is returning from a short absence.

Fantasy Tip: It is safe to drop Hudson in the majority of fantasy leagues, as Mike Leake will replace him in the starting rotation. Still, Hudson could make a few starts before the year is over, so don't write him off completely.

Fantasy Tip: Leake ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) is a low-end starting pitcher who is worth owning in the majority of leagues. Owners should be selective with his starts, though, and a road game against Texas isn't an ideal spot for Leake. FantasyScore players should consider him a risky No. 2 starting pitcher Sunday.

San Francisco Giants SP Tim Hudson will be bumped from the rotation after the Giants acquired SP Mike Leake from the Cincinnati Reds. Leake is 9-5 with a 3.56 ERA in 21 starts this year, including 4-0 with a 0.60 ERA in his last four starts. Leake could join the Giants as early as Friday, July 31.
Fantasy Tip: Hudson can now be dropped in all formats. Leake ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) was already on the rise in fantasy circles before this trade, and his value is now boosted further with this move to a very friendly pitching environment in San Fran. He becomes a much more acceptable play on FantasyScore, too.

Fantasy Tip: Leake ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has been excellent in July, and he should be able to maintain the momentum and remain a solid value play at FantasyScore for at least a little while now that he is staying in the NL. However, his career numbers suggest he will cool at some point.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a FantasyScore stud wherever he pitches.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 20:49:54 -0700
Detroit Tigers SP David Price is a potential trade target for the San Francisco Giants, one of four teams in contact with the Tigers. The other teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays.
Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) is a stud FantasyScore option, but moving to AT&T Park would give him a bump in value. According to MLB Park Factors, AT&T Park ranks 29th in the majors in runs scored, with the least amount of home runs yielded in the league.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 12:07:57 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Sanchez ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has a .194 average (7-for-36) with a home run and five RBI on the season as a backup catcher, and he's a desperation sleeper pick on FantasyScore.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 12:04:01 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a fine value target for FantasyScore users today. He's hitting .316 (55-for-174) with all three of his home runs and 17 of his 19 RBI against right-handers in 2015.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 12:00:12 -0700
San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (back) remains out of the lineup Wednesday, July 29. SS Ehire Adrianza is starting at the keystone again and is hitting eighth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers.
Fantasy Tip: Panik's injury isn't believed to be serious. After another day of rest with an off day tomorrow, expect Panik to return to the lineup Friday. Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has just two hits in 19 at-bats this year and is an option to avoid on FantasyScore.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 10:34:40 -0700
San Francisco Giants SP Jake Peavy is 4-4 with a 2.44 ERA in 12 career starts against the Milwaukee Brewers, but he is 3-2 with a 1.56 ERA against them in his last six outings. Peavy faces the Brewers Wednesday, July 29.
Fantasy Tip: Sure, Peavy ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been good against the Brew Crew in his career, and they aren't in contention this season. But the Brewers have actually been one of the hotter offensive clubs since the All-Star break, and Peavy has allowed seven runs in his last two starts. Peavy might be a bigger risk than you want to take in daily games today.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 10:22:53 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The Phillies are encouraging interested teams to submit their best offers for Hamels sometime today, so the Giants look to be fading from the running. The Los Angeles Dodgers just acquired Mat Latos from the Miami Marlins, so the Texas Rangers might be the sole favorite for Hamels at this point. Stay tuned.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 05:20:10 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Ehire Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is 2-for-19 (.105) on the season and isn't worth starting on FantasyScore if Panik is out again Wednesday.
