Free-agent 3B Pablo Sandoval's agent, Gustavo Vasquez, talked with the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, Nov. 19. It is not known whether Sandoval was on the phone with Vasquez about re-signing with the Giants. Vasquez wrapped up a lengthy visit to Boston.

Cuban OF Yasmani Tomas is attracting interest from the San Francisco Giants, according to sources. Tomas' agent, Jay Alou, already turned down an eight-year offer from a team and prefers a shorter deal. The Philadelphia Phillies are considered the favorite for his services, but other west coast teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, are involved. The Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners have also scouted Tomas.

Free-agent 3B Pablo Sandoval (Giants) has already rejected the San Francisco Giants' $15.3 million qualifying offer. The Giants are now ensured draft-pick compensation if Sandoval signs with another team this offseason. Sandoval also rejected a three-year, $40 million extension from the Giants in March of this year.

San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner was credited with the save, and not the win, in Game 7 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals Wednesday, Oct. 29. He threw five shutout innings of relief after RP Jeremy Affeldt was credited with the win after going 2 1/3 innings of relief. Bumgarner's save became the longest in World Series history, with the previous longest coming in Game 6 for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1981.

San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner came on in relief in Game 7 of the World Series Wednesday, Oct. 29, against the Kansas City Royals. He worked five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits with four strikeouts, throwing 68 pitches on just two days' rest. He picked up the victory in relief, finishing the World Series 3-0 with a 0.43 ERA, winning World Series MVP honors.
