San Francisco Giants OF Justin Maxwell homered in each of the two games over the weekend and is batting .308 with a 1.015 OPS in 39 at-bats this season, and manager Bruce Bochy said he'll keep playing Maxwell in right field until OF Hunter Pence (arm) returns. Maxwell could knock OF Norichika Aoki out of the lineup once Pence returns on occasion.
Fantasy Tip: It's hard not to want to sneak Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) into your FantasyScore lineups while he's on fire. Tonight is another one of those occasions, as he's facing Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed starter Brett Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Belt ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is off to a bit of a slow start this year (.233-0-4), but he has plenty of time to bounce back, and he'll continue to see regular playing time. A move to left field might bump either Norichika Aoki ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) or Justin Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) out of the lineup that day.

Fantasy Tip: Pagan is hitting .329 on the season and is 7-for-16 (.438) against left-handers. At just $2,700 (5.4% of your cap), he's an excellent low-end outfield flyer.

Fantasy Tip: Buster Posey ($5,600, 11.2% of your cap) shifts to first base, and he is an everyday catcher option on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Pence ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) won't be ready by May 1, but he could be ready to return not far after that. In the meantime, Justin Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has impressed Bruce Bochy enough to see regular playing time in right field over Gregor Blanco. Maxwell, however, is, at best, a flyer at FantasyScore as a matchup play.

Fantasy Tip: Cain ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) is a long ways away from returning to the starting rotation, but he should still be stashed away in a DL slot in the majority of fantasy baseball leagues. Rookie Chris Heston ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has benefitted the most from Cain's absence, and he's proving to be valuable at FantasyScore as a low-priced pitching option in the right matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has provided a spark for this offense in the last week, and he's started the last three games. He'll be an under-the-radar option at FantasyScore tonight, but it could pay off while starting at hitter-friendly Coors Field.
Fri, 24 Apr 2015 14:02:42 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Stacking your FantasyScore lineups with Giants while in Coors Field against Butler isn't a bad idea. That continues with Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) at the top of the order, even though he's hitting just .220 (9-for-41) to start the year. Blanco could give you a nice opportunity to change it up on your opponents.

Fantasy Tip: Vogelsong ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) had a rough start to the year pitching in relief, but he bounced back with a solid outing against the Dodgers Thursday Thursday. Vogelsong won't be all that attractive at FantasyScore, and he'll purely be a matchup play, preferably at pitcher-friendly locations.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco Giants OF Hunter Pence (arm) graduated to hitting off a tee with a wooden bat Thursday, April 23. It will be awhile before he is cleared to take batting practice, and after that, he will have to be cleared again to face live pitching.
Fantasy Tip: Pence ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is likely closer to a month away from returning than two weeks. But fantasy owners should continue to be patient and stash him in all formats. He is a rare contributor who is capable of tipping the scales in all fantasy categories. However, it is worth noting he is returning from an arm injury, and it could negatively impact his hitting ability. Continue to check back for updates on his recovery progress and a more concrete return timeline.

Fantasy Tip: Pence ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) won't be back by May 1, as it's taking him a little longer to heal. Gregor Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Justin Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) will continue to switch off in right field in Pence's absence. Maxwell has started the last three games. Neither outfielder is a great FantasyScore play, and you'll want to ride the matchups.

Fantasy Tip: Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of your cap) is making his third straight start over OF Gregor Blanco. Maxwell has an average .280-1-4 line leaves a bit to be desired in a low-end flyer on FantasyScore. Blanco is losing playing time and should be avoided altogether.
Wed, 22 Apr 2015 16:58:40 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Vogelsong ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) allowed seven earned runs through 4 2/3 innings in his only start of the season, and the Dodgers bring an admirable offense to face him. Despite his minimal cap hit, start Vogelsong at your own risk in FantasyScore contests.

San Francisco Giants 3B Casey McGehee is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 22. 2B Joaquin Arias is starting at the hot corner and hitting seventh in the batting order against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw.
Fantasy Tip: McGehee ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is off to a terrible start with his new club (.171, 6-for-35), and injuries haven't helped his cause. Arias ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is more known for his defense, and he, too, is off to a slow start (.143, 2-for-14). Avoid Arias against Kershaw tonight at FantasyScore.

San Francisco Giants OF Gregor Blanco is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 22. OF Justin Maxwell is starting in right field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw.
Fantasy Tip: Maxwell ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) broke through with a home run and triple in the team's win Tuesday night. He's a mediocre FantasyScore choice, at best, against Kershaw, though. Maxwell has hit just .236 (78-for-331) in his career against lefties.
