Fantasy Tip: Peavy ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) is 5-0 in his last eight starts, and he has allowed two runs or less in five straight starts. The veteran seems to have something left in the tank, and he could have some value as a sleeper when 2016 rolls around.

San Francisco Giants C/1B Buster Posey is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Chris Rusin Saturday, Oct. 3. C Trevor Brown will start behind the plate, with INF Kevin Frandsen playing first base.
Fantasy Tip: Both Brown ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) and Frandsen ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) have limited offensive potential and should only be used as desperation sources of salary cap relief in FantasyScore. Posey ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) should return to action for the regular-season finale Sunday, Oct. 4.
Sat, 03 Oct 2015 12:16:18 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Since returning from the disabled list Sept. 11, Cain ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has allowed three runs on three hits over three innings in two relief appearances. He has gone 1-3 with a 6.85 ERA in 10 games (eight starts) since the All-Star break and should be avoided in FantasyScore, especially because it is unlikely that he will pitch deep into the game.

Fantasy Tip: Byrd ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is just 3-for-22 over the past seven days and hasn't homered since Aug. 28, so he isn't a great starting option in FantasyScore this afternoon.

Fantasy Tip: Aoki ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) had a decent 2015 season with a .287 batting average, five home runs and 26 RBI but was limited by injuries. Owners will have to monitor his progress during the offseason to have a better idea of his status for next season.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants do not want Byrd ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) to receive 15 plate appearances between now and the end of the regular season, in order to avoid having to pay his $8 million option for next year, so he is a risky FantasyScore play this weekend. Parker ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is batting .364 with four home runs and nine RBIs in 22 at-bats over the past week and is an excellent value option in FantasyScore.

San Francisco Giants 2B Kelby Tomlinson is expected to be used as an outfielder in the instructional league or in the Arizona Fall League, as the team attempts to turn him into a utility player capable of playing multiple positions.
Fantasy Tip: Tomlinson ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) is batting .297 in 51 games this season and is hitting .389 (14-for-36) over his last eight contests. He merits consideration as a FantasyScore value play during this weekend's series against the Colorado Rockies.

San Francisco Giants OF Marlon Byrd will not receive an $8 million vesting option for next season despite needing just 15 plate appearances in order for the option to kick in. However, the team is still interested in bringing him back next season.
Fantasy Tip: Manager Bruce Bochy said the team wants to give Jarrett Parker ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) and Mac Williamson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) more playing time during the final few games of the regular season. If the Giants had still been in the playoff hunt, Byrd would have continued to start and the option would have vested. He can be dropped in redraft leagues.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 18:19:49 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Hudson ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) has announced that he is retiring at the end of the regular season and manager Bruce Bochy said he expected the outing to be short because he has been bothered by a tender left hip. He can be dropped in all fantasy formats.

San Francisco Giants P Yusmeiro Petit will start the final game of the regular season against the Colorado Rockies Sunday, Oct. 4. SP Madison Bumgarner had been scheduled to pitch but he has been shut down.
Fantasy Tip: Petit ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA in 40 appearances this season, only one of which has not come in relief. He will probably be on a pitch count and is not a great FantasyScore option.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 10:48:20 -0700
San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan and SS Brandon Crawford are not in the lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed SP Brett Anderson Thursday, Oct. 1. OF Jarrett Parker is starting in center field and batting sixth, while SS Nick Noonan is at shortstop and is hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Parker ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is a worth a look as a value pick on FantasyScore, but the fact that he's facing a lefty makes him even more shaky. He has six home runs and 13 RBI in just 38 at-bats for the Giants. Ignore Noonan ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) everywhere.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 01:18:36 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Duffy ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) carries a .355 average in the past week, and he appears to be the long-term solution at third base for San Francisco. He isn't a big source of power yet, but Duffy projects as one of the better third basemen in the NL for 2016.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 01:12:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: If Leake ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) wanted to prove his worth to the Giants for 2016, he couldn't have picked a better spot to do it. This was his last start of the season, but he goes into the offseason as a better pitcher in San Francisco than he was in Cincinnati.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 17:06:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Belt had already been shut down for the season because of a concussion and he should be dropped in all redraft leagues. He should be completely healthy by the time spring training rolls around.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 16:52:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Byrd ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has had a nice run since joining the Giants with a .275 batting average and 30 RBI over 36 games. FantasyScore players should avoid his replacement Mac Williamson ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) Wednesday. The rookie is nothing more than a dice roll.
