San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (oblique) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 27. SS Ehire Adrianza is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Chicago Cubs SP Dan Haren Thursday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Crawford ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) from your lineups in all formats. He is optimistic to return sooner than later, so check back for updates. Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) owns a .522 OPS this season, and he should be viewed as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Blanco ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any lingering effects of his injury. Juan Perez ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) replaced him in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Lincecum ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) could be used in the rotation, or he might be used out of the bullpen. His status is up in the air. FantasyScore players should ignore him until he can officially return to the rotation and prove his health through a full start without any setbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Give Hudson ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) a start or two to knock off the rust before trusting him in FantasyScore again.

Fantasy Tip: Cain ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) hasn't been so hot lately, and FantasyScore players will want to avoid him until he gets untracked. He is 0-2 with an 8.03 ERA in five starts in the month of August, serving up seven home runs in 24 2/3 innings.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 18:42:49 -0700
San Francisco Giants SP Chris Heston is not scheduled to make another minor-league start currently. He might return sometime soon, perhaps re-joining the team next week in Los Angeles once rosters expand after Sept. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Heston was sent down to give him a rest, as his innings have been piling up. The team wants to make sure to keep him healthy and not do any long-term damage. It's bad news for FantasyScore players, because he has been a tremendous option at times this season.

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (back) was able to take grounders before the game Wednesday, Aug. 26, and he continues to make progress. He has not had any setbacks, and was able to take swings off a tee Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Fantasy Tip: Panik is still not expected back until the tail end of the team's upcoming road trip, so FantasyScore players be patient. In the meantime, Ehire Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) and Kelby Tomlinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) continue to hold down the fort at second base.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (knee) will play one final minor-league rehab game with Class AAA Sacramento Wednesday, Aug. 26, before he is activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday, Aug. 27.
Fantasy Tip: Give Pagan ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) at least a game or two to get his rhythm back before trusting him again in FantasyScore.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 16:47:46 -0700
Fantasy Tip: SS Ehire Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) will likely see the majority of playing time in Crawford's ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) absence. Continue to check back for updates on the severity of Crawford's injury and when he projects to return to the lineup. Adrianza holds fleeting value as a desperation flier for NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues.
Wed, 26 Aug 2015 16:26:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: You'll want to give Pagan a game or two to shake off the rust when he returns to the Giants before utilizing him at FantasyScore. The veteran is enduring a rough season, though, so his value is at the lowest it has been for a few seasons. He has just six stolen bases, no home runs and a .258 batting average. You should aim higher in the majority of seasonal leagues.

San Francisco Giants SS Brandon Crawford (back) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Aug. 26. SS Ehire Adrianza is starting at shortstop and batting eighth against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Crawford ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) from your lineups in all formats and check back for updates on the severity of his injury. Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting .190 this season, and he should be viewed as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore.

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (back) is not expected back until late in the team's upcoming road trip, so SS Ehire Adrianza and 2B Kelby Tomlinson will continue to handle the second base duties until Panik is ready to return.
Fantasy Tip: Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) and Tomlinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) are nothing special in terms of FantasyScore, but when they start it won't take much to earn their salary. And even if they do nothing, they're nice salary savers so you can load up on options at other more valuable positions.

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (back) is back with the team in San Francisco, but manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday, Aug. 25, that he does not expect Panik to return to game action until late on the team's next road trip.
Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players can avoid Panik ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) for a while until he can officially prove his health in a full game and knock off the rust from his layoff. It appears Ehire Adrianza ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) and Kelby Tomlinson ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will continue to hold down the fort at second base until Panik returns.

San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain is 0-1 with a 5.09 ERA in his last four starts against the Chicago Cubs, who he faces Tuesday, Aug. 25. However, he's also 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA in his last six starts at home against the Cubs.
Fantasy Tip: Cain ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) has been very mediocre this year with a 5.66 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in nine starts (47 2/3 innings), and he's striking out only 6.6 hitters per nine innings. Couple that with the fact that the Cubs have the third-highest OPS in the month of August and you have a recipe to avoid Cain on FantasyScore tonight.
Mon, 24 Aug 2015 01:15:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Vogelsong ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) pitched Sunday at PNC Park, where he went 6-13 with a 6.06 ERA, so this outing may have been predictable. Vogelsong has been up and down this season, but entering this game he had been 3-2 with a 2.57 ERA after the All-Star break. As long as he is this uneven, you may want to steer clear.
