Fantasy Tip: Souza ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) had 16 strikeouts in that 26-at-bat skid, so today was a good sign. We need to see more before spending that much on FantasyScore, though.

Fantasy Tip: Rivera ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) probably will return to the lineup in the next game or two. Casali ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has been decent at the plate since being recalled but should not be a starting option.

Tampa Bay Rays 2B Logan Forsythe is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Saturday, July 4. OF Jake Elmore will start at second base and is batting eighth in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) should return to the lineup in the near future. Elmore ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has struggled at the plate recently with only two hits in his last 11 games. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Souza ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) received a few days off since he has been struggling at the plate. He has gone nine games without a hit and is batting only .208 on the season. Owners on FantasyScore probably should avoid Souza until he breaks out of his slump.

Tampa Bay Rays OF David DeJesus is not in the starting lineup against New York Yankees SP Michael Pineda Saturday, July 4. OF Joey Butler is starting in left field and is batting second in the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: DeJesus ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) probably is receiving a rest and should return to the lineup in the next game or two. Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has been on a bit of a cold streak with only three hits in his last seven games. Owners on FantasyScore may want to look for other options to use in their lineups.

Fantasy Tip: Sizemore ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has played well since joining the Rays and has at least one hit in four of his last six games with four RBI in that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider Sizemore as an option if they are looking to save some money.

Fantasy Tip: Barring a setback, Odorizzi will be back before the All-Star break. It would be wise to let him prove his health in a start before returning him to your seasonal lineups or starting him at FantasyScore. His pre-injury 2.47 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 7.4 K/9 play in all formats.

Fantasy Tip: It's Souza's second day off in a row, and his extended struggles have clearly cost him some playing time. Sizemore ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is hitting .364 with a homer and four RBI the last seven days. If you're feeling nostalgic, give him a whirl on FantasyScore against Masahiro Tanaka.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) showed his rust against the Cleveland Indians in his first start of the season Thursday, July 2, throwing three wild pitches and allowed four runs, six hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision. "I thought there might have been more nervous body-control type issues, but really it felt normal," said Moore, who threw 81 pitches in his first outing against major-league hitters in 451 days.
Fantasy Tip: The outing showed exactly why we said it was too risky to bet on Moore ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) in his first start back in over a year. You may want to play it safe and avoid him in his next start, too, depending on the opponent. The poor command is just a reminder that many starters struggle with location in their return from Tommy John surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Jennings ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) last played April 25 before having knee surgery. It doesn't look like he'll be back anytime soon, either. There's no reason to add him in shallow mixed leagues. Kevin Kiermaier ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) will continue to start in center in Desmond's absence. He's merely a low-end outfield option on FantasyScore, though.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 12:26:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Loney ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) should at least return to the strong side of a platoon at first base to face right-handed pitchers, meaning Marc Krauss ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) could lose whatever little fantasy value he may have had. Loney has very little power to speak of and is batting-average dependent, making him a fantasy commodity in the very deep mixed leagues, at best.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 09:06:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Moore ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is at a cheap price if you want to risk it, but it's his first start in a year due to Tommy John surgery. We'd avoid him on FantasyScore for a start or two.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 09:03:26 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Souza ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is hitless in 21 at-bats the last seven days and should be avoided in his deep slide. Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has a .276-2-16 line this season, but he's really just a guy. Sorry for the weak pun, but avoid him on FantasyScore.
Thu, 02 Jul 2015 08:54:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: DeJesus has only 10 hits in his last 69 at-bats (.145) since the beginning of June with no home runs and five RBI. He's batting-average dependent and was due for regression. Sizemore ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has a homer and four hits in his first 14 at-bats with the Rays, but he's about one of the weakest cleanup hitters you'll see in baseball and should be avoided on FantasyScore today against the Klubot.
Wed, 01 Jul 2015 18:30:51 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Loney ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) remains on pace to rejoin the parent club this weekend. FantasyScore owners should avoid him during the first game or two after he is activated so that he can prove that he is completely healthy.
