Fantasy Tip: Boxberger can be stashed in deeper leagues, but even when healthy, he could have a tough time unseating Alex Colome.

Fantasy Tip: It has been a rough stretch for Ramirez. He could still be a cheap source of saves for a few more days, but he can be cut loose as soon as Alex Colome comes off the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Colome is expected to come of the disabled list when eligible. He should resume his closing duties, so hang on to him in all formats for now.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Desmond Jennings (hamstring) left the game against the Detroit Tigers in the bottom of the third inning Thursday, June 30, due to tightness in his left hamstring. OF Brandon Guyer moved over from right field to replace him in center field, with INF/OF Nick Franklin entering the game to play right field.
Fantasy Tip: Jennings doubled in his only at-bat before leaving and is considered day-to-day. The 29-year-old is batting just .202 with seven home runs and 19 RBI through 63 games this season.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Steven Souza (hip) hit two home runs during a simulated game Thursday, June 30, and is tentatively scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Class A Charlotte Friday, July 1. He also noted the power has returned to his lower body.
Fantasy Tip: Souza's posted a respectable 26 runs, 10 home runs, 25 RBI, three stolen bases with a .255/.315/.443 slash line through 57 games before the hip injury. He should be owned in all deep mixed leagues now that is he close to returning from the disabled list. Check back for updates on his expected return date.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb can be a sneaky fantasy asset down the stretch, and since he's closing in on returning, he should be owned in all seasonal leagues. He has a 2.82 ERA with a 8.2 K/9 through his past 49 starts, after all. Check back for updates on his recovery and return timeline.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Corey Dickerson (thumb) is back in the starting lineup and is hitting sixth against Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann Thursday, June 30. Also, OF Oswaldo Arcia (illness) is back as the designated hitter and is batting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Dickerson had been dealing with a thumb ailment recently but looks good to go. Both he and Arcia are similar players; a lot of power but swing and miss often. For that reason they are both hard to rely on regularly in mixed leagues, but their power is intriguing. They are all-or-nothing plays in daily formats. .

Fantasy Tip: Cedeno gave up a leadoff hit and struck out one to drop his ERA on the year to 3.76. The Rays will likely play the matchups in the ninth with Alex Colome on the DL, and Erasmo Ramirez and Matt Andriese could factor in in the short term, as well. Don't invest heavily, but after Wednesday's game, Cedeno may be the favorite for closing opportunities.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Brandon Guyer (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with his seventh home run of the season Wednesday, June 29, against the Boston Red Sox. He also added a double and finished the afternoon with one run scored and two runs driven in.
Fantasy Tip: In his first game off the disabled list, Guyer reminded fantasy owners that he can be a useful asset in AL-only leagues, and perhaps deep mixed formats as well. Considering the current state of Tampa Bay's decimated outfield, Guyer could be a decent addition, as he'll get regular playing time and has already enjoyed some success at the plate prior to getting hurt in the beginning of June. Keep him on your radar, at least.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore picked up his fourth win of the season Wednesday, June 29, after defeating the Boston Red Sox. The left-hander tossed seven shutout innings, yielding just three hits and two walks, while picking up six strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: Not only was this an excellent outing from the 27-year-old, it was an important one, too. Moore saw his run of back-to-back quality starts end his last time out, but he was able to bounce back here in a big way opposite a really good lineup. Moore has now pitched six or more innings in five straight outings, and appears to be returning to earlier season form when he posted a respectable 3.66 ERA in April. The lefty is someone to keep an eye on if he's out there.

Fantasy Tip: Franklin is 2-for-3 (.667) with three RBI against lefties this season, which isn't enough of a sample size to warrant a play against David Price today.
Wed, 29 Jun 2016 07:15:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: He has the misfortune of facing David Price today, but he's hitting .360 with three homers against lefties this season. He's a low-end consideration.
Wed, 29 Jun 2016 06:36:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jennings is hitting .261 this month, which is a step above his .202 average for the season. However, he's facing David Price today. He has upside at cleanup, but it's a risk. Beckham isn't worth consideration.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore is scheduled to face the Boston Red Sox Wednesday, June 29. He is 3-4 with a 5.40 ERA in eight career appearances (seven starts) against Boston. He is 1-2 with a 6.35 ERA in three starts against the Red Sox at Tropicana Field.
Fantasy Tip: Moore should be avoided in fantasy leagues which permit daily transactions and in DFS play, as he just doesn't seem to match up well against the BoSox.
Tue, 28 Jun 2016 20:51:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cobb continues to make his way back from Tommy John surgery. It's uncertain if he will be able to make it all the way back to the big club this season. He might be worth grabbing in fantasy leagues later in the season if he makes it all the way back.
