Fantasy Tip: Lopez is several years away from appearing in the major leagues, but both Brandon Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) and Joey Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should receive more playing time with DeJesus gone from the crowded Rays' outfield. Both Guyer and Butler can occasionally be used on FantasyScore when facing a left-handed pitcher.

Tampa Bay Rays 1B James Loney is not in the lineup against Detroit Tigers left-handed SP David Price Tuesday, July 28. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at first base and hitting cleanup, while SS Tim Beckham slides over to second base and is hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been a pleasant surprise for the Rays this year. However, he's not your prototypical cleanup hitter and is in a tough matchup against Price tonight. It might be tough for him to return any value Tuesday night.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:25:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is in a favorable lineup spot but doesn't have much offensive upside, and he's stuck in a tough matchup against Price. He's one to avoid for your daily lineups.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:22:03 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has hit very well against lefties this year (.314/.333/.486 with three of his six home runs in 70 at-bats), which could make him a contrarian play on FantasyScore while facing Price.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:30:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Casali ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has been swinging a hot stick and has, for the time being, overtaken Rene Rivera (.176/.210/.289) as the team's starting catcher. Don't be fooled: Casali remains a low-end catching option on FantasyScore, and he faces a tough matchup in Detroit Tigers starter David Price tonight.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:26:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kiermaier ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) should be avoided in all daily contests tonight while facing Detroit Tigers lefty David Price. Kiermaier swings from the left side and is hitting .242 (15-for-62) with none of his four dingers versus lefties in 2015.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 20:46:16 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kiermaier ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore until he can officially return and prove his health in a full game without any lingering effects of his injury. Brandon Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) could see more at-bats if Kiermaier is sidelined.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 20:17:42 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Cabrera ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should be given a couple of games to knock off the rust before trusting him again in FantasyScore.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:39:02 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Souza ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has seen most of his time near the top of the lineup but has dropped down for Monday's game. He has picked up only two hits in his last five games and is not a great option on FantasyScore at this point.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 14:47:38 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jennings ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has been sidelined since April because of his knee injury but may be close to returning. He could rejoin the team in the next few weeks, but owners on FantasyScore may want to wait a few games before considering him for their lineup.
Mon, 27 Jul 2015 13:30:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Smyly still has a ways to go to get stretched out in order to return to the Rays rotation in the second half of the season. Expecting him to make a big impact down the stretch for a fantasy squad is unrealistic, and he should only be stashed in deeper leagues.
Sun, 26 Jul 2015 07:38:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Casali ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could return sneaky value for FantasyScore players Sunday. He carries a contest-minimum salary, and each of his last five hits have gone for extra bases. Keep expectations in check, though, as he boasts a .225/.289/.525 slash line over only 45 plate appearances this season.
Sun, 26 Jul 2015 07:19:14 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Smyly is rehabbing from a torn labrum and likely will have minimal fantasy impact this season, if any. He'll need to be stretched out and avoid any setbacks, so a few starts in September is likely a best-case scenario. At this point, he is a desperation stash in the majority of formats.
Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:17:17 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is 7-for-17 with a home run and four RBIs over the past week. He is 3-for-9 in his career versus Gonzalez with one double and warrants consideration for FantasyScore lineups.
Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:10:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Casali ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is 3-for-19 this month with a home run and three RBIs and is only hitting .125 in 16 at-bats at Tropicana Field. Unless you desperately need FantasyScore salary cap relief, avoid using him.
