Fantasy Tip: Mahtook went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in his first game back in the majors. While he's not yet available on FantasyScore, Mahtook could become a serviceable option once he has a few more games under his belt.

Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is hitting .297 against lefties this season, and he'll be a strong option in both GPP tournaments and cash games on FantasyScore.
Sun, 02 Aug 2015 07:30:34 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is hitting just .245 against lefties, but he has hit three of his four home runs against southpaws. Guyer will offer some cap relief to FantasyScore owners for use in GPP tournaments.

Fantasy Tip: Moore ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has been brutal since returning from Tommy John surgery, and he owns an 8.78 ERA in six starts. It sounds like his demotion could be a temporary thing, but with Drew Smyly potentially returning soon, Moore could be given time to work things out in the minors.

Fantasy Tip: Souza ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) was riding a five-game hit streak, and he needs to be stashed by owners who are currently rostering him.

Fantasy Tip: Sizemore was recalled from the minor leagues Saturday after spending some time with Class AAA Durham. He struggled over his last several games when he was with the Rays and should not be a fantasy option at this point.

Tampa Bay Rays C John Jaso is not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox left-handed SP Eduardo Rodriguez Friday, July 31. OF Joey Butler is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth, while OF Mikie Mahtook was recalled from the minors and gets the start in left field while hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has cooled off considerably since a hot run in the first half of the season, and he's seeing inconsistent playing time, too, making him hard to rely on for fantasy purposes. Both he and Mahtook are weaker outfield plays, but Butler at least is a decent value consideration on FantasyScore. Mahtook should be ignored.

Fantasy Tip: Karns ($7,200, 14.4% of cap) has had a solid rookie season, going 6-5 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 20 starts (115 innings) for the Rays this season. It's hard to imagine his fantasy value changing all that much if he's dealt, depending on where he lands. Jepsen is unlikely to fall into a closing role if he's traded away, so his fantasy value remains limited.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 13:02:48 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Jennings ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) likely will have to play several games in the minor leagues before rejoining the Rays. It may take Jennings some time to return to his pre-injury form, so owners may not want to use him initially.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Chris Archer allowed two runs on three hits in seven innings against the Detroit Tigers Wednesday, July 29, to suffer his eighth loss of the season. He struck out 11 batters and did not walk any batters during the game.
Fantasy Tip: Archer ($9,500, 19.0% of cap) pitched well during the game but did not receive enough run support. He has struck out at least 10 batters in six games this season and has struck out at least six batters in his last seven starts. He is scheduled to face the Chicago White Sox in his next start and could be a solid starting option.
Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:04:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Casali ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has four home runs in his last two games and has earned himself everyday playing time, at least in the short term. His hot stick won't last forever, so you may want to capitalize while you still can on FantasyScore. Verlander has looked rather pedestrian with a 5.57 ERA in his seven starts this season.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:16:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Lopez is several years away from appearing in the major leagues, but both Brandon Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) and Joey Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) should receive more playing time with DeJesus gone from the crowded Rays' outfield. Both Guyer and Butler can occasionally be used on FantasyScore when facing a left-handed pitcher.

Tampa Bay Rays 1B James Loney is not in the lineup against Detroit Tigers left-handed SP David Price Tuesday, July 28. 2B Logan Forsythe is starting at first base and hitting cleanup, while SS Tim Beckham slides over to second base and is hitting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Forsythe ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been a pleasant surprise for the Rays this year. However, he's not your prototypical cleanup hitter and is in a tough matchup against Price tonight. It might be tough for him to return any value Tuesday night.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:25:52 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Guyer ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is in a favorable lineup spot but doesn't have much offensive upside, and he's stuck in a tough matchup against Price. He's one to avoid for your daily lineups.
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:22:03 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Butler ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has hit very well against lefties this year (.314/.333/.486 with three of his six home runs in 70 at-bats), which could make him a contrarian play on FantasyScore while facing Price.
