Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore may have his start skipped Sunday, May 8, against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Angels hit left-handers much better than right-handers. SP Matt Andriese or SP Erasmo Ramirez could make the start Sunday. If Moore makes the start, SP Blake Snell could come up to start Monday, May 9, or Tuesday, May 10, against the Seattle Mariners.
Fantasy Tip: Moore is 1-3 with a 4.95 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP, and he has 37 K's in 36 1/3 innings. So he's really feast or famine right now, but he's a low-end consideration. Snell is the team's top pitching prospect and is worth the speculative waiver claim and stash.

Fantasy Tip: Dickerson is in a terrible tailspin, going hitless in 23 straight at-bats dating back to April 24. His average has tumbled from .259 to .192 as a result. He cannot be trusted in anything but the deepest of AL-only fantasy leagues right now, and he should probably be reserved there, too.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Brandon Guyer made another start Wednesday, May 4, against the Los Angeles Dodgers and he posted his second straight multi-hit game, and third game with two hits in the past five outings.
Fantasy Tip: Guyer is getting his chance to play regularly and he is taking advantage of the situation. Still, his appeal is limited to deeper AL-only fantasy leagues and as a low-cost option in DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: Pearce entered the game with just two homers and six RBIs, so don't get carried away and go grabbing him in mixed formats. He has a nice .300 average, but he remains way more useful in AL-only fantasy leagues and as a cost saver in DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: Casali has homered in back-to-back games, and he has at least one RBI in each of his past three games. Slowly, but surely, he is re-discovering his offense. He has hit safely in a season-high three games, and he can be trusted as a No. 2 receiver in AL-only fantasy play. He is also a nice low-cost sleeper in DFS.
Wed, 04 May 2016 20:54:28 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Smyly had his shortest outing of the season in this one, but he has rolled up six or more strikeouts in five consecutive outings while posting a 0.78 WHIP overall. He is a must-have in AL-only fantasy leagues, most mixed formats for his strikeout potential and a decent mid-tier DFS option.

Fantasy Tip: Cobb and Whitley might return at some point this season, but for now they can be left to the waiver wire unless you have extremely deep reserve or plenty of DL spots.

Fantasy Tip: Consider Souza day-to-day. The 27-year-old is batting .253 with 6 home runs and 12 RBI through 23 games and makes an attractive fantasy option because of his power-speed combo, although he strikes out frequently.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Steven Souza (hand) left the game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth inning Wednesday, May 4, after experiencing some discomfort in his hand while swinging. He went 1-for-2 with a solo home run before being replaced in the game by OF Kevin Kiermaier.
Fantasy Tip: If Souza is sidelined for several days, expect Brandon Guyer to see the bulk of the playing time in right field in his absence. Keep checking back for updates on Souza's status.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Kevin Kiermaier, 1B Logan Morrison and SS Brad Miller are all out of the starting lineup against Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed SP Alex Wood Wednesday, May 4. OF Brandon Guyer is in two-hole and starting in center field, 1B Steve Pearce is at first base and is hitting cleanup and SS Tim Beckham is at shortstop and is batting eighth.
Fantasy Tip: Miller (.176, two home runs) has basically entered a platoon with Beckham at shortstop, which hurts his value in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Pearce, Guyer and Beckham are all dice rolls as low-end daily options, although Guyer and Pearce are a bit more attractive based on where they reside in the order tonight.

Fantasy Tip: Alex Colome has been solid in the closer role with five saves, a 3.00 ERA and 10 K's in nine innings. There's no guarantee that Boxberger will regain the role, but he has a good shot to do so. If he's floating on waivers, now may be the time to scoop and stash.
Tue, 03 May 2016 23:37:44 -0700
Fantasy Tip: LoMo is 6-for-64 (.094) with no homers and no RBI. The law of averages say that'll end eventually, but he's not worth owning right now.
Tue, 03 May 2016 14:15:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Because Kazmir is a lefty, Dickerson takes a seat for the Tuesday game. Guyer carries no fantasy value for daily players, so you may want to consider someone else to replace Dickerson.
Sun, 01 May 2016 13:20:39 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Two of Stroman's four victories during his undefeated start this season have come at the expense of the Rays, who he handled on Opening Day. The 25-year-old phenom has worked at least seven innings and yielded three or fewer runs in four of his six outings this season, so continue to trust him for fantasy purposes in his next scheduled start Friday at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Tampa Bay Rays SS Brad Miller, OF/DH Corey Dickerson and 1B Logan Morrison are back in the starting lineup against Toronto Blue Jays SP Marcus Stroman Sunday, May 1. In addition, C Hank Conger is starting behind the plate in place of Curt Casali, batting ninth.
Fantasy Tip: The left-handed-hitting Miller, Dickerson and Morrison were rested for Saturday's game because the Rays were facing a left-handed pitcher. Although Miller is batting below .200 for the season, he is 6-for-13 with two doubles and a home run over the past week and is worth considering as a value play in daily fantasy games. Dickerson is hitless in his last 12 at-bats and Morrison is batting just .100 through his first 60 at-bats, so both players should be avoided this afternoon.
