Texas Rangers OF Josh Hamilton (hamstring) worked to shorten up his running stride in order to manage the soreness in his left hamstring. He acknowledged that he's still not 100% but said that he is ready to play center field and is expected to come off the disabled list Tuesday, June 30. Hamilton went 4-for-12 on a four-game rehab assignment and played the last two games in center field. He has a .345 career average with 11 home runs in 110 at-bats in Baltimore, where the team is playing this week.
Fantasy Tip: Hamilton ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) should be owned in all fantasy leagues, and he should contribute valuable stats if he can stay healthy and in the lineup. His return might spell a trip back to the minors for Joey Gallo ($4,600, 9.2% of cap), who would probably benefit from some more seasoning.

Updating a previous report, Texas Rangers OF Josh Hamilton (hamstring) acknowledged while he is not 100%, he is ready to play center field Monday, June 29. He is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday, June 30. "I was hoping to play today, but we decided to give me a day to recover after the travel and the workout," Hamilton added Monday.
Fantasy Tip: Hamilton ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) projects to return to the heart of the Rangers' batting order. He is worth owning in all fantasy leagues, and at his current cap hit, FantasyScore players shouldn't be afraid to take a flier on Hamilton when he faces a favorable pitcher.

Fantasy Tip: Chirinos ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has respectable counting stats this season (21 runs, seven home runs and 26 RBI), and should be viewed as a low-end option in cavernous mixed, AL-only and two-catcher formats going forward. Corporan ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has a .544 OPS this season, and FantasyScore players should likely aim higher Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Odor ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has two home runs, nine RBI and a .395/.442/.632 slash line over 12 games since he was recalled from the minors. Batting leadoff adds to his already increasing value, and FantasyScore players should view Odor as a solid value play at the keystone Monday and going forward.

Fantasy Tip: Hamilton ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is at a cheap price to give a shot on FantasyScore when he returns.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has his average up to .351, and he leads the majors with 33 multi-hit efforts. With just 12 home runs, Fielder isn't displaying his typical power, but he is enjoying his most consistent season. He is one of the safer high-priced options at FantasyScore, but there are players available in the same price range with higher ceilings.

Texas Rangers OF Leonys Martin is back in the starting lineup Sunday, June 28, against the Toronto Blue Jays. Martin will start in center field and hit eighth in the order against RHP Drew Hutchison. OF Ryan Rua comes out of the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Martin's ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) biggest upside comes in the stolen base category, as he has 12 on the season. Martin is hitting just .222 against righties, and he should be avoided against Drew Hutchison, who has been dominant when pitching at home.

Fantasy Tip: Odor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) went 2-for-4 Saturday, with a homer, a stolen base and two RBI. Odor has three multi-hit games since being brought back to the major leagues June 15, and he should be owned while he's hot, especially while at the top of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gallardo ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) is now 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA in five June starts, and shutting down the potent Toronto offense may have been his best performance yet. Gallardo has been streaky in recent years, but he is offering great value for the price at FantasyScore while he is dealing.

Fantasy Tip: Rua ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is hitting only .167 in limited playing time this month and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore at this time.
Sat, 27 Jun 2015 08:31:55 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Martin ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return in the next game or two. Gallo ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has four hits in his last eight games and is batting only .125 against left-handed pitchers, so owners on FantasyScore may want to look at other options.

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder hit his 300th career home run in a 12-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays Friday, June 26, and he and his father, Cecil Fielder, joined Bobby Bonds and Barry Bonds as the only father-son duos to reach 300 home runs each.
Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has hit just 12 homers on the year, but his 48 RBI and .346 average put him in the top five in the AL in both categories. If you have the money to spare, Fielder offers a solid combination of upside and safety at FantasyScore.

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (neck) could return to the starting rotation the week before the All-Star break. The team could go to a six-man rotation when Harrison's 30-day rehab assignment comes to an end after July 2. Harrison threw a bullpen session Friday, June 26, and will throw again Sunday, June 28, before making another rehab start for Class AAA Round Rock Wednesday, July 1.
Fantasy Tip: There's no obvious candidate to be bumped from the rotation to make room for Harrison in a few weeks. A move to a six-man rotation would cause the current rotation members to lose some fantasy value. Stash Harrison in deep mixed or AL-only leagues now if you're in need of rotation help.

Texas Rangers OF Leonys Martin has seen his average drop to .227 and his on-base percentage to .270 in the month of June, and he's hitless in his last 11 at-bats and 2-for-33 entering Friday, June 26, since his average peaked this year at .255 on June 14. The Rangers don't really have any other options to play center field right now, so Martin will be allowed to fight through his slump. However, OFs Josh Hamilton (hamstring) and Delino DeShields Jr. (hamstring) are both nearing returns and can both play center field. Martin is 7-for-44 (.159) against left-handed pitchers since May 1.
Fantasy Tip: Martin ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) shouldn't have been in many FantasyScore lineups tonight while facing Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Mark Buehrle. Expect Martin to lose valuable playing time once both Hamilton and DeShields return to action.

Fantasy Tip: Odor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is probably an afterthought to most at FantasyScore with his .188 average (22-for-117) and just two home runs and 16 RBI in 2015. He hasn't seen much success against left-handers, either, but a game in hitter-friendly Toronto could at least make him worth considering as a deep sleeper.
