Fantasy Tip: DeShields owns plus-wheels and could be a sneaky source of stolen bases going forward if he earns regular playing time. Profar is a must-own hitter at this stage, as he appears in line for full-time at-bats going forward and boasts a solid .287/.341/.401 slash line.

Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus was held out of the lineup for the second time in a nine-day stretch that also included an off day for the team. Manager Jeff Banister said Andrus "was a little banged up" but would play Wednesday, July 27.
Fantasy Tip: Give Andrus a game or two to prove his health before trusting him again in seasonal fantasy leagues and DFS play.

Texas Rangers SS Elvis Andrus and OF Delino DeShields Jr. is not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray Tuesday, July 26. 2B Jurickson Profar will start at second base, while 1B Mitch Moreland will serve as the designated hitter and is batting eighth. OF Ryan Rua will start in right field and is batting seventh.
Fantasy Tip: Moreland has only three hits in his last 20 at-bats and probably should be avoided in most fantasy leagues. Rua is hitting .238 with one home run and two RBI this month. Owners should be able to find better players to use in their lineups and can avoid Rua.

Fantasy Tip: Gallo was hitting .246 with 19 home runs and 47 RBI in the minor leagues and should remain with the Rangers for a while. He needs to be owned in all AL-only leagues and should also be an option for owners looking for more power in deeper fantasy leagues.
Tue, 26 Jul 2016 14:54:25 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gallo may be showcased for trade purposes, or the team may have something else in mind. Whatever the case, Gallo is back in the lineup and may be worth a low-cost DFS flyer if he's in the starting lineup.

Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez allowed five runs - three earned - and nine hits over six innings in a no-decision Monday, July 25, against the Oakland Athletics. He allowed one walk with three strikeouts while throwing 61 of his 84 pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: Perez had been terrible in the month of July, but this was certainly a much-needed good start for the left-hander. Fantasy owners will want to see at least one more quality start before trusting him again.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre is starting to heat up, posting three straight multi-hit games with three homers and six RBIs during the stretch. He remains a must-start in all fantasy formats and DFS play.

Fantasy Tip: Desmond is playing for a contract in the offseason, and he is on fire and likely to get paid at this rate. He is just six homers short of a career high set back in 2012 with the Washington Nationals.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder can be replaced in all seasonal leagues. Jurickson Profar and Mitch Moreland will receive a decent to significant fantasy boost with more playing time ahead. Joey Gallo is also a player to watch because of his power potential.
Mon, 25 Jul 2016 14:20:47 -0700
Fantasy Tip: While there isn't a definitive timeline for his absence and return at this point, it doesn't sound good for Fielder bouncing back this season. In fact, his season could be finished. Don't make any hasty roster moves just yet, but be prepared to be without Fielder for the remainder of 2016. Jurickson Profar and Mitch Moreland will receive a decent to significant fantasy boost, and Joey Gallo is a player to watch because of his power potential. Stay tuned for updates.

Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez was scouted by the Texas Rangers Sunday, July 24, and general manager Jon Daniels said the injuries to Texas' rotation has forced the team to consider trading for "rental" players at the deadline.
Fantasy Tip: Volquez has been pitching well of late, but he would remain an AL-only option with a move to Texas.

Texas Rangers SP Derek Holland (shoulder) will come off the 60-day disabled list Aug. 20, and SP Colby Lewis (lat) will come off the 60-day disabled list Aug. 21, general manager Jon Daniels said Sunday, July 24.
Fantasy Tip: Holland can be left on waivers as he works his way back, but Lewis was pitching well before he went down and is worth stashing in AL-only leagues.

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre went 2-for-5 with a double and three-run home run Saturday, July 23, against the Kansas City Royals. It wasn't all good as Beltre was charged with his sixth error on a throw.
Fantasy Tip: Beltre has stepped it up at the plate, posting five extra-base hits (two doubles, one triple, two homers) over his past five games. He remains a solid fantasy play across all formats and a must-have DFS option while running hot.
Sat, 23 Jul 2016 21:24:32 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The homer was Mazara's first of July, and just his third since the start of June. Despite the fact his power has dried up a bit, he continues to hit for consistent average and remains a must-start in all AL-only fantasy leagues and some mixed formats and DFS play.

Texas Rangers SP Cole Hamels allowed one unearned run, five hits and three walks with four strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a win Saturday, July 23, against the Kansas City Royals. He threw 63 of his 105 pitches for strikes.
Fantasy Tip: Hamels lowered his ERA to 2.87, third-best in the American League. He has been ridiculous on the road, going 8-1 with a 1.71 ERA in 11 road outings with 67 strikeouts over 73 2/3 innings. Regardless of venue, he is a must-have fantasy option.
