Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) released an extreme training video Tuesday, Sept. 13, showing him working out at a Connecticut gym. He was wearing a weighted vest and oxygen-deprivation mask, as well as showing his vertical leap and agility. He has not played in an NFL game since the 2013 season, but some believe there is a "growing sense" the 29-year-old will get a shot to return this season. He vowed to donate every game check this season to programs focusing on education and prevention of domestic violence.
Fantasy Tip: Rice might very well get a chance to return and show what he can do, but fantasy owners need not bother with him until he gets another chance, knocks off the rust and proves he can play at a high level again. He might not be fantasy relevant until 2017, even if he gets a chance to come back this year.

Fantasy Tip: Hilliard was a seventh-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, but he spent the entire season on the Houston practice squad. A lot of things will have to break in Hilliard's favor for him to warrant fantasy attention.

Free-agent RB C.J. Spiller (Saints) may have to wait to sign with a team because there aren't many running back spots open. Teams have openings for special teams. Spiller's salary for 2016 is being paid by the New Orleans Saints, which means he's likely to make the minimum with a new team.
Fantasy Tip: Spiller can still be a PPR asset in the right system. Keep tabs on him as the season progresses.

Fantasy Tip: Williams probably will be a backup running back for a team this season, but his fantasy value will be determined by his role. He would be a late-round option in leagues if he finds a good situation.
