Baltimore Ravens news, rumors and injuries

Baltimore Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) has been working out, but it is not known if he will be able to play when he is eligible to be activated from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Pitta can start participating in practice as soon as Monday, Oct. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Pitta has struggled with hip problems over the last few seasons, and it is uncertain whether he will be able to play again if he continues to have problems. Pitta likely would not play until later in the season if he is cleared and should remain on the waiver wire for an extended period of time.

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett had 119 yards the last time he faced the Cleveland Browns, and Baltimore has averaged 144 yards rushing against Cleveland since John Harbaugh has been their coach. The Browns have allowed the second-most rushing yards in the NFL in the last 10 years.
Fantasy Tip: All signs are pointing toward a big day of production for Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap). He will be the offense for Baltimore with Steve Smith and Crockett Gillmore out Sunday, whether it be on the ground or via short dump-off passes out of the backfield. He's essentially a must-play in Week 5 in all formats.

Baltimore Ravens DE Chris Canty (calf) has been ruled out for the Week 5 game against the Cleveland Browns. LB Albert McClellan (abdomen), OT Eugene Monroe (concussion), LB Daryl Smith (non-injury) and OG Marshal Yanda (ankle) are listed as probable. Canty did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 9. McClellan was limited during practice, while Monroe, Smith and Yanda fully participated in practice.

Fantasy Tip: Taliaferro ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) should remain the primary backup at running back for the Ravens and will see a handful of snaps during the game. Owners should look for other option to use in their starting lineups.
Fri, 09 Oct 2015 12:18:06 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Perriman ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is still sidelined by the knee injury he suffered during training camp. Kamar Aiken ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) likely will be the No. 1 receiver for the Ravens in Week 5 but is not a great fantasy option.
Fri, 09 Oct 2015 12:16:59 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Maxx Williams ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) should receive the start at tight end with Gillmore out of the lineup. Williams has recorded only 84 yards over the first four games of the season and probably is not the best option for owners.
Fri, 09 Oct 2015 11:39:56 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Kamar Aiken ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could have a big role with the dearth of receivers in question this weekend. He's a basement flyer on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: It doesn't look good for him this weekend, and Maxx Williams ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) could be a one-week play on FantasyScore against the Cleveland Browns.
Fri, 09 Oct 2015 08:52:07 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Both aren't expected to play against the Cleveland Browns. Kamar Aiken ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) could have a big role with the dearth of receivers in question this weekend. He's a basement flyer on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) carried the load for the Ravens last week after Steve Smith went down, and with Smith still sidelined, Forsett should be given plenty of chances to exploit a great matchup. Start him with confidence at FantasyScore.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 14:04:12 -0700
Baltimore Ravens DE Chris Canty (calf), LB Albert McClellan (abdomen) and LB Daryl Smith (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 8. OT Eugene Monroe (concussion) and OG Marshal Yanda (ankle) were full participants.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 13:29:21 -0700
Fantasy Tip: An eye will need to be kept on Taliaferro ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) heading into the weekend. Justin Forsett is still the main man in the Ravens' backfield, but Taliaferro could cut into his playing time if he's healthy enough. The bottom line is that rostering Taliaferro is risky this week.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 13:13:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: The prospects of Perriman playing this weekend don't look promising. With Steve Smith ruled out and Perriman's availability in doubt, Kamar Aiken ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) and Marlon Brown ($2,000, 4.0) could be nice sleeper choices on FantasyScore at their cheap prices. Aiken has more upside, though.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 12:49:58 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Gillmore ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has a chance to return this weekend against the Cleveland Browns, but he'll likely be questionable, making him a risky daily click. Maxx Williams ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) has sleeper potential in Week 5 if Gillmore sits again.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 12:46:09 -0700
Fantasy Tip: With Smith out this weekend, you'll obviously want to avoid him on FantasyScore. Justin Forsett ($6,800, 13.6% of cap) will be the offense for Baltimore and is an excellent pick in daily formats. Kamar Aiken ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will essentially be the No. 1 receiver and is a good option as a deep sleeper.
